Homeowners often contact us with uneven Home Cooling Issues. We hear that their living room is comfortable,  but their bedrooms are too hot or vice versa. It can be very frustrating to have uneven temperatures from room to room. If the issue is not fixed it often makes homeowners run their A/Cs on lower temperatures which leads to unnecessarily high energy costs.
So, if you notice this happens, there are a few things you should pay attention to.

Furniture Blocking Air Vents

Before trying to fix the air conditioner you may want to inspect the home and see if any of your furniture is blocking air conditioning vents.
If that is the case, it is an easy fix! Move the furniture away from the vent to let the cold air circulate better throughout your home.

Clogged Filters

When your filters are dirty and clogged, it’s less likely that the air will get through and into the rooms where you need it.
Atlas HVAC Inc., recommends changing your air filter semiannually during peak season to keep your air conditioning system running smoothly.

Blockages inside the AC Ducts

If you have already moved the furniture and replaced the filters, you may want to give your Atlas HVAC Inc. technician a call. Sometimes there are blockages inside the AC ducts.
The technician will conduct a complete inspection of your ductwork and will make any repairs needed to fix what may be blocking the airflow.

Size Matters

Make sure your air conditioning system is the correct size. If the unit is too small, it may not have the right amount of power to cool your entire home.
On the other hand, bigger is not always better. If the unit’s capacity is too large for the space, it will run inefficiently, cycling on and off too frequently.
It may cause uncomfortable levels of cooling and higher utility bills.

Outdated HVAC Design

Occasionally homeowners remodel their homes without updating their HVAC system. It often happens that the layout or sizing of the ductwork,
and / or possibly the equipment itself, may no longer be able to properly cool the redesigned space.
This is another good reason to consult Atlas HVAC Inc. You may find that simple ductwork changes can make a huge difference in your HVAC airflow and comfort.

If you are experiencing uncomfortable cooling or heating in your home, don’t hesitate to contact Atlas HVAC Inc. We will be sure to resolve the issue in a timely matter.
